 Hā
Penny is considered by many to be the most unique store in
Frankenmuth. Pronounced "Hay Penny" in the States, it
is named after the British Half-Penny.
Pronounced by the Brits as "Hayp-Knee", the Half-Penny has
been out of circulation since the 1960's. Great
Britain also had a Penny and a Quarter Penny, called a
farthing.
The
name of our store came originally from an idea to install a
path covered in British Half Penny's that led to a rock fountain in the middle of
the store. This idea never came to pass because we
found that it was impossible to obtain the Hā Penny in large
quantities. Although the idea was quickly scrapped,
the Hā Penny name stuck.
Hā
Penny's merchandise is as distinctive and unique as the
British Half-Penny. Hā
Penny carries over 90 varieties
of Tea Bags and
Premium Loose Tea, famous
Trail of the Painted Pony and
Cow Parade figurines,
Tiffany Stained Glass Lamps,
Sid Dickens Memory
Blocks,
Willow Tree figurines, the best handmade
Soy Candles and many more
gifts and accents for the home. You will enjoy an
array of unique and distinctive offerings at Hā Penny in
downtown Frankenmuth.
